Set a little out of town, this pub is one of 3 Beccles establishments featuring in the Good Beer Guide and is probably the best of the 3.

The pub has been opened up to leave a main bar area at the left-hand end, with a larger area containing two pool tables at the right-hand end. There is a garden at the rear.

A handful of customers were in during my Friday afternoon visit. A few were making use of the pool tables. 6 real ales and a cider were on handpull. Ales were Barsham Golden Close & Stout Robin, Tindall Ditchingham Dam, St Peter's Gold Dust, The People's Brewery Thurlton Gold & Mr Winter's Tranquility. The cider on handpull was Weston's Rosie's Pig, with Snail's Bank Rhubarb cider also spotted in the fridge. My Ditchingham Dam was another ale flavoured with ginger and went down quite nicely.

A really decent community local, where various events are also held, including an American themed food night being held on a forthcoming weekend.
