Saturday 7th July 2012. Party of 13. Pre-booked earlier in day. We arrived about an hour after our original booking time and had phoned ahead to advise of our late arrival but everything was fine and they were still able to accommodate us. I think it is more of a classical pub with games room and entertainment on most nights but these are kept slightly serarate from the tables for eating. Our party had three starters and those who had the garlic mushrooms said it was perfection and unique in their 'buttery' taste. The menu is slightly confusing with a very large price differential (eg. Sausage Dinner was £5.95 and the Gammon steak £11.50) but the meals were all a similar size and very well prepared. Even the steak was only £11.50 although nobody opted for this on this occasion. All I can say is that all plates were cleared of food and only one party member had room for desert and so from that you can derive that the food was of good quality and good quantity. The deserts were very reasonably priced at £3.25 each but the choice was rather limited to just four options.
There is plenty of room inside and outside the pub as it has large gardens and seating in front with a comprehensive children's play area. I am sure that if we are back in the area then we will not hesitate to use again.

I am still a regular at the Church House even though I now live in Kidsgrove. I enjoy playing dominoes in the Congleton league.
