Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rag
Country 'Eatery - Drinkery - Sleepery' with a slightly opened-out U-shaped interior comprising three seating / dining areas around the central bar (all with smart, semi-traditional furniture and decor). Also has a small front patio garden ideally placed to catch the late evening sunshine. Tribute, Directors, Landlord and an anonymous (but Marston's) Cheers Ma'am jubilee beers (£4.00).

UPDATE: I believe the Rag has been recently taken over. The pub/restaurant has a bowling green (which had a marquee on yesterday, hosting some outdoor activity). There was also an outside food 'hut'. The bar is pretty much the same, with a TV (not on) and soft music. They do serve a bar menu here, too. 4 Ales on, ever rotating - I had the Peakstones Brewery Churnet Valley IPA, which was fine. The lounge is the restaurant, arranged in a kind of U-shape. Food here is very good, having eaten a number of times. Definitely worth a visit.

Sep 2009: A little brick cottage looking building, with a new brick extension of the same size, this place is a pub and restaurant, but the pub element is completely different.
The interior - that is the pub part, is modern, with a new looking wood bar, wood panelling and nice brick fireplace. The decor is tasteful, with hose racing memorabilia on the walls. It is very clean and the service was very friendly.
Usual stuff, with Ansells MILD on handpull, which was good; London Pride, Black Sheep Bitter and Spekky Hen were also on. They have another guest beer which rotates and on my visit it was Titanic Nautical MILD, so this place was onto a winner with me - it was very nice
Will definately visit again

Danny O'Revey left this review about The Rag Restaurant
This is actually called The Rag, not the Rag restaurant as below, though its advertises as a bar & restaurant.
And having said that it is very food orientated. And I made the mistake of going in the lounge and it was pointed out if I wanted a beer maybe I should go in the bar. When I pointed out there was no room in the bar they did let me stay. It has the feel of a locals pub trying to be two things but not being able to fully commit to either. But having said that it is ok.
Beer as below & the Ansells mild was nice
