Strongers . left this review about The Wyggeston
The Wyggeston is a large Craft Union Pub with two separate bars. The main bar is to the left where an S-shaped space sees seating across the front between the entrance and L-shaped serving counter to the right. Raised seating is found across the rear behind the counter where a music system is set up, for the weekends I expect. Televisions throughout were airing muted cricket via Sky Sports and some random background music was playing during a recent Wednesday afternoon visit when there were ten or so other customers, which made this large pub feel empty. In the right is an L-shaped public bar with a pool table, dartboard and large projector screen on the wall, it was empty in here. Standard and premium keg were available and I think both bars had a bank of three hand pumps that were drawing Pedigree and Abbot Ale. I think this is the largest CU pub I’ve visited and as a local boozer I’m sure it does the job, but it’s not worth the walk from town.

Substantial, multi-room building that was certainly a hotel at one stage. The only open entrance led to the lounge bar, which has been created from a partly opened-out layout forming a zigzag and slightly split-level arrangement of seating areas. Didn't get to see the public bar or other areas of heritage interest, but they are still here apparently! With three of the five handpumps on the main counter in use, I found Pedigree and Bass (at a very reasonable £2.70) being served.
