ORIGINAL REVIEW October 2022.
All very traditional interior with a front carpeted saloon with bench seating and green banquettes and feeling quite plush. The rear room also has bar access and doors to the garden,so its all quite charming.
This was towards the end of a long crawl so I may have missed a lot but the ale options were Burton Bridge Bitter and Stairway to Heaven with guests Gates Resevoir , Bass and thankfully Oakham Inferno (NBSS 3.5).
Would just about make it onto a crawl list beware that the noon opening maybe a moveable feast during the week.It caught me out but being close to the station it got ticked later in the day.
UPDATE
Since my previous review this traditional pub has won the CAMRA branch pub of the year three years in a row and the ale range and quality deserve a significant upgrade. On my Tuesday trip, once opened at 4pm the options were Thornbridge Jaipur IPA (NBSS 4.5),Vocation Heart & Soul (NBSS 4),Titanic Plum Porter (NBSs 4.5) and Marstons brewed Courage Directors (NBSS 4),Bowness Bay Fell Walker and Bass. That's a top range and in great nick on a long session.Barman was a lot of fun ,friendly and knowledgeable. It's a family run pub.Probably the best ale house in Burton these days and close to full marks.

Strongers . left this review about Devonshire Arms
The Devonshire Arms has a central corridor that runs from front to rear that passes to the left a small square front public bar with a counter across the rear that faces a couple of tables and some banquettes. It was rammed in this bar during a recent Wednesday evening visit. The corridor continues to a quieter lounge at the rear that is split up by exposed brick pillars and a wide chimney breast that houses a burner. To the left is a strip of sunken seating where all the tables were being used by diners and to the right is an L-shaped rear serving counter. Carling, Staropramen, Madri and craft offerings from Tiny Rebel and Brew York were available on keg and the ten hand pumps evenly split across the two bars were drawing London Pride, Jaipur, Oakham’s Citra, Ossett’s Silver King, Bass, Gates Burton Brewery’s Reservoir and Titanic’s Plum Porter. This is a popular pub that’s worth a look.

I'd passed by this pub a couple of times during the day, but it doesn't open until 4pm on weekdays. Returning shortly after 4pm, I found the pub already doing a brisk trade.
There is a popular front bar and a much quieter lounge to the rear, with an adjoining dining area that was roped off during my visit. Service wasn't the friendliest. But the beer range was better than the Roebuck nearer the station. Regular beers are Burton Bridge Burton Bitter & Stairway to Heaven, Bass, Gates Burton Reservoir & Titanic Plum Porter. Guests were St Austell Proper Job & Dark Star Hophead. Make sure you check the boards, as some ales will be on in the other room.
There were also a number of ciders - Weston's Rosie's Pig Tropical & Rhubarb & Family Vintage & Lilley's Raspberry Mojito Cider, Mango Cider, Cherries & Berries & Fire Dancer.
