This place has come on leaps and bounds since the review below, which is now more tha ten years old. The interior is bright and modern, and I didn't detect any food smells. I got the impression of a well used village local, though it would appear that real ale is probably not the major tipple of the regulars. There are four hand pumps, with Abbot, Pedigree and Doom Bar the options.

Yet another village pub that has fallen foul of the incompetant "Pub Chain". The food is dreadful, and the sizzling platters that stink the whole place out turn your stomach. The boss is rude, and the staff aren't the friendliest. A 4 pack and cheap microwave meal from a supermarket is 5 star in comparison.

The landlady (sharon)and some of the staff did not seem to be interested in our custom. it was like we were invading on her sunday afternoon, we did not feel welcome at all. some staff were just rude. the food was terrible one yorkshire pudding was solid and could not be cut. side orders were missin and one steak was burnt. the list goes on and on. I shall not visit this place again nor recommend it to anyone. Also the landlady was drinking heavily and became very foul mouthed, as she was sitting at a table with friends, and the glasses were piling up, she ignored this, one of the customers complained to her about the service (waiting at the bar)and she told her to mind her own ****ing business, then we left never to return, disgusting.
