Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Sportsman Inn
After a brief visit to the Woodlands Club (I won't add it on here as we flashed a CAMRA card to gain entry and it may not be open to the general public), we moved onto Parkgate to see if the Sportsman had re-opened. We'd read that it had and confirm that reports were correct.
20 years ago, the Sportsman was listed in the last Good Cider Guide to be published. These days, it's a choice of Carling Black Fruits, Kopparberg or Aspall's. Keg beers are Carling, Staropramen, Stella Artois, Corona, Bud Light, John Smith's, Madri & Guinness.
The pub is a large room split into sections either side of the bar with a further room to the rear containing a snooker table and a pool table. The main room also has pool tables, a dartboard, plenty of TVs showing sports, a boxing machine, a fruit machine and a jukebox. There is also a DJ booth on the left-hand side.
Music was playing. The decor is quite modern. A quite young crowd were in, some playing pool. Drinks were on the expensive side, but give the barmaid credit, she highlighted that a half of cider was more than half the price of a pint.
Not really my cup of tea. It has at least re-opened as a pub/bar though.

The Sportsman Inn is a decent sized pub that looks functional from a distance, but on closer inspection it looked closed and unused inside.
I asked a local landlord about the pub,he said it had been closed for years.
