The Prince of Wales looks in a right old state from the outside with peeling paintwork and rotten window frames,i know this because i was stood outside the pub for well over half an hour waiting for it to open.
Once inside the pub had two small seperate rooms,i had a drink in the bar which is the right hand room, this room was carpeted and had comfy leather bench seating to the front and facing the bar, with small stools, there was a pool table to the front and darts board to the rear right, the lounge to the left looked very comfortable with bench seating and chairs.
There was one real ale on the which was in the lounge room, but the landlady kindly brought the pump clip through for me to see, this beer was Pheasantry Tank Ale which was a very nice drink and fairly cheap at £2.60 a pint.
Note:If you arrive at this pub early like i did dont wait outside the front door like i did, they dont open the front door untill a customer uses the back door which is open,i felt like a right wally after being told this.

The Pince of Wales is a comfortable place for a drink if you can get beyond its shabby exterior. It disappoints on the beer front though with only one real ale on, HB Clarks Hoopoe on our visit. It really is a hit and miss affair as to whether you'll like the beer or not. We didn't. Not sure why it's in the GBG.

Try hard to ignore the peeling exterior paintwork of this traditional street corner local.Once inside this is a well cared for local with a public bar to the right of the entrance and a comfortable, well upholstered lounge to the left. There is a noisy clock which chimes on the hour. There is only one handpump which dispenses a constantly changing ale ,so you never know what might be on.Sadly on my trip the beer was a sweetish dark brew with a caramel taste which is just not my cup of tea.I left wondering why the pub has been a GBG regular for 15 years.
