The Parkgate inn is a small corner pub that is on the opposite corner to the Travellers.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear,the floor is carpeted,there was some comfy to the front and also running down the right side,the serving bar was halfway down the room to the left,there was a pool table to the rear,a small TV was showing Cricket.
I am pretty sure the pub is a Thwaites tied house,but there is no outside signage to prove this,there was one real ale on the bar,this was Thwaites Lancaster Bomber which was a decent drink.
The pub is quite smart and well kept and also comfortable,just a shame that it was a bit on the quiet side on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I quite like going in small corner pubs like this.
