I thought at first the pub was shut, because there is quite clearly some work going on with the roof, but the sound of loud music pouring out of the door soon disabused me of that notion. I just had time for a swift half before catching my tram back to Sheffield - or so I thought, but the works going on with the pavement further along the street diverted me by enough to ensure I just missed it. This is a bigger pub than it's acute angled corner site suggests, with a pool table having one room almost to itself. As with many of Stonegate's Craft Union pubs, it is relatively smart but with a lived-in feel, with cheerful service and friendly customers. The absence of real ale makes it likely this will have been my one and only visit. (Just for the record, I had a half of Worthington Creamflow.)
