Alan Winfield left this review about The Star Inn
The Star Inn is a bare brick built pub that is in a residential area to the north of the town centre.
Once inside there was a smart looking lounge to the front, this room was L shaped and had comfortable bench seating around the edge of the room with normal tables and chairs, there was a seperate bar to the rear which looked quite smart with bench seating in one half and a pool table in the other.
I had a drink in the lounge which was very busy with a good mix of drinkers.
The pub is a Samuel Smiths tied house with their usuall choice of beers on the bar, there were no real ales,i had a drink of Old Brewery bitter which was a very nice drink and also very cheap.
This is a very comfortable pub that i could settle in for a cheap session.
