The Highwoods is a typical 50s built estate pub that is named after the estate that it is on.
Once inside there is a bar to the front right which had bench seating facing the the bar and a pool table to the far right, this room was very busy with a mix of locals.
The lounge is to the left, this is a larger room that extends to the rear of the pub, there was bench seating in bays and the room was carpeted.
I had to have a drink in the lounge because the bar was full, this was a big mistake, the room was empty apart from myself and a tribe of kids who were useing the room as a playground, having races up and down the room, this was very off putting while trying to write some notes and drink my beer.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths smooth crap which was pretty poor.
I am usually happy in any pub i go in,but this one was a realy poor pub to visit.
