An attractive stone-built pub on the northern edge of the town centre, but the interior I found to be a bit of a let down. The entrance is in a sort of porch-cum-corridor which links the main building to a modern toilet block. Turning left here leads into the one roomed pub, with the bar occupying a large part of the back wall. The choice of seating is between uncomfortable low chairs or uncomfortable high chairs. There are three hand pumps on the bar, with a choice of Sharps Doom Bar or Timothy Taylor Landlord at the time of my visit. My half of Landlord cost £1.70, which seems pricey, but that may be just Timothy Taylor's fault rather than the pub's, as it was the same price in the otherwise cheaper Scarbrough. It was pretty quiet here on my mid-week afternoon visit, so perhaps it's better to visit at busier times, when I might have gained a better impression.
