Pub closed and awaiting demolition. Area to be turned into housing. Original pub was a prefabricated two roomed one built in the 1950's to serve an estate of pre-fab houses being thrown up after the war. This building was replaced in the mid 60's by a comfortable pub with a large games rooms and lounge. sadly high bar prices and the ban on cigarette smoking forced closure in the last year or so. Gordon Elstub and wife Peggy, were the landlord and landlady for many years and were very well respected.
