The Silkstone is a typical looking estate pub,so i was well pleased to bump into it after getting lost while walking around the South of Barnsley.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped bar to the front which has a pool table in the middle of the room,there is comfy bench seating around the edge of the room with small stools,there were TVs on showing sky sports,there is a separate lounge to the rear which was carpeted and had bench seating and chairs.
There were two unclipped pumps on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths smooth crap,which lived up to its name.
The bar room was quite busy with a group of drinkers.
I like doing estate pubs like this.
