Alan Winfield left this review about The George
The George is a small stand alone pub that is a short walk from the shopping area,it is opposite a large car park.
Once inside there was single room with the bar facing, there was comfy bench seating on the right side and front left, the floor was carpeted and there was a pool table to the rear left,a TV was showing a horse racing channel on mute.
There was some decent indie type background music playing.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths cask which was a very nice drink, the other beer was Hobgoblin.
The pub was quite busy on my early saturday dinner visit with mainly older drinkers.
This is a proper pub that i really liked.
