Close to the wharves on the River Trent, this is a community pub with a friendly welcome. Two handpumps but only one working ,dispensing well kept John Smith's Cask.Limited pub snacks are available, the lounge area has a central fireplace with a wood burning stove.Poker nights on Monday and Wednesday, karaoke on Friday and a lounge carpet displaying the white rose of Yorkshire ,the landlord is a keen LUFC supporter. The pub name no doubt refers to the good old days when Keadby was part of the south riding and the Trent formed the boundary with the now expanded Lincolnshire .

The approach to the Auld South Yorkshire could be better with a slightly ramshackle exterior and the, now common, welcoming committee of smokers around the door. Don't be put off however as the welcome is actually incredibly friendly and included the provision of newspapers and some banter about the fortunes of local sports teams. Inside the pub has a bar area with pool table and larger lounge area. There is no variety of real ale offered with only John Smiths cask on. This though was a very good pint which was equally well served and there is a good argument for offering one very well kept ale rather than a number of indifferent beers. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area and need to whet the whistle.
