Graham Coombs left this review about The Exchange
The Exchange is a rambling hotel across a large site with several different buildings, including an attractive courtyard area. It now has two separate bars (and a restaurant which has its own small bar for diners). The Doghouse is a cosy wood-panelled place tucked right round the back, with a very traditional hotel feel but smartly modern. It has a pair of handpumps dispensing TT Landlord, with a Beavertown and sundry Eurofizz on the keg taps. Across the yard is Henry's Sports Bar, a much larger, brasher affair with numerous screens but no cask ale. The Doghouse is signed down an alleyway off Wrawby Street, while Henry's is signed off Bigby Street, but they are actually right next to each other in the middle of the site. Unfortunately at early lunchtime it was a struggle getting the Landlord into a glass and it proved to be undrinkable. It might be ok if the beer is in order.

Will Larter left this review about The Doghouse @ The Exchange Inn
This was formerly called the Exchange Coach House Inn. It's a bit of an odd one, with what looks like the original building on Bigby Street - tall and handsome, with a plethora of hotel rooms - but another called Exchange Tavern on Wrawby Street, and in between a fairly modern creation, perhaps on the site of original stables, which has some odd architectural fantasies incorporated somewhat randomly. It was bought last year (see this article from the local newspaper: https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-news/brigg-hotel-bought-almost-1-7454471), and the hotel bar has been revived with the addition of a couple of hand pumps (Timothy Taylor Landlord on one, in pretty good nick, though a little pricey for Brigg). To complicate matters, the bar is called The Doghouse, with an inn sign and an A-board on Wrawby Street to entice punters to make their way through arches and gates, past various signs playing on being "in the doghouse" (groan). The bar is actually quite good, with some wood panelling that must have cost a few bob, and a couple of sitting out areas too. I was told locally that the new owners are looking to revive the Exchange Tavern part of the buildings, so watch this space.
