Once a village pub before Taunton’s urban sprawl overtook it, it still has the the feel of a traditional local. There is a small carpark at the back, and once inside you find a pool room, a main bar and a smaller lounge. The bar has basic furnishings and a pleasant pub atmosphere. Food is pub grub, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Ales on were Betty Stoggs, Doombar and Otter Bitter, all in fair condition. I shall certainly come back here as it’s a decent pub with a good beer selection, convenient to the town centre yet not over-run with crowds.
