Objectors have been left disappointed after permission was granted to turn a former Martock pub into a cafe.
South Somerset District Council's Area North committee has given the green light for Martock Christian Fellowship Trust's plans to convert the historic George Inn. The plans were approved despite 45 objections from local residents, with some hoping to restore the Grade II-listed building as a pub.

Should have done this months ago as i live in Martock - Definitely CLOSED and now owned by the Christian Fellowship who will not use it as a pub!

Closed at the moment but I'm not sure about its future - there are various rumours abounding including one that it has been bought by the church! Shame, it used to be quite good.
