E TA left this review about The Blake Arms
A small, single room corner pub on the outer fringe of the main entertainment part of Bridgwater town centre. The building is Victorian, and externally looks attractive. Internally, though, it consists of a single bar formed from two earlier rooms, with the obvious step change in floor height showing where the wall was. There is a Victorian fireplace, though this has clearly not been used for a while. Walking in, our feet stuck to the laminated floor, and the whole bar seemed grubby. There was a DJ booth in the corner, a gaming machine and a few tables at the raised end where they may or may not have been serving food. The clientele were mainly young, loud males wittering on about watching ‘I’m a Celeb’ on the large drop-down screens that were present in both parts of the bar. Only one ale on, Doombar, which was in below-average condition. Get me out of here.
