As the previous review points out , this is a decent pub , well appointed , plenty of banter amongst the locals and well looked after , OK pint of Bankss Bitter (no other real ales) but something not quite right

As I walked up to this pub I thought it was closed, happily it wasn’t. It’s a real locals local, the landlord and landlady and their two kids were all in the bar. It’s a really nicely appointed pub with loads of wood panelling, wooden settles, and a slightly strange sight of drawers in the pub walls in one area. It also has a nice looking fireplace, but sadly that was all but hidden behind one of the biggest TV screens I’ve ever seen, floor to ceiling, and it was showing the BBC News! There’s also a pool table and a quiz machine. Three handpumps on the bar but only Banks’s bitter was available. I had a pint and it was OK. I had mixed feelings about this pub, it’s OK but there’s something that doesn’t quite work, and I can’t put my finger on it.
