Still outstanding beer quality and has an updated but rather bland interior, the back room isn’t as breathed on. The railway porn remains to the relief of this old anorak. Beers from Hobsons much in evidence also a couple from Rudgate and one from Purity.

Visited yesterday, and haven't been here for a few years so good to see it is still a good real ale bar. Beers served from 2 bars and there is an outside seating area too. Beers available were from Rudgate, Goffs, Purity and Burton Bridge and we enjoyed the Rudgate Brew no 38 which was a porter

With its bright yellow painted exterior, you won’t miss this one when you get off the bus. Two rooms and two bars via a side corridor featuring ‘Livs Gallery’. Enter to laminate floored main bar with mustard coloured walls, featuring loads of foreign ale bottles up on the walls. Six pumps here with three local micros and a cider on. Quarry tiled rear room with eight pumps and two ales plus a cider, also a dart and newspapers. I went for the Backyard Centennial, which was in very good shape. A beer drinkers mecca and well-worth a special trip. (Visited June)
