Multi-roomed pub of a style rarely found anymore. The exterior has a distinct central gable. Mostly carpeted and with decent stained wood panelling, very traditional with standard seating throughout. TVs were showing the live football on Saturday lunchtime with a good crowd in watching; there are two dartboards in separate areas, food is served, pretty much everything for different tastes. Robbies beers, apparently this is their biggest selling pub. Unicorn, Dizzy Blonde, Dark Vader and Hartley's Cumbria Way. A pleasant spot and a bit of a throwback to a different era.

This no frills Robinsons pub, situated opposite the station seems to be stuck in a 1980's time warp, complete with a more than adequate amount of the round copper coloured topped tables. There was a fine selection of about 30 whiskies behind the bar with the usual Robinson beers at the pumps, and the Dizzy Blonde being quite a decent pint.On the bar a chalked blackboard displayed a fair priced traditional food menu, and a few diners had took advantage of the offer
