Moss Trooper is a JW Lees pub & kitchen with lots of seating out the front adjacent to the main road. Inside this large pub is a central island bar that is surrounded on all sides by seating geared towards dining. The six hand pumps were drawing MPA, Bitter and Autumn Drop, great for fans of JWL. The service was polite, but the pub was empty with my visit being out of food service times. I wouldn’t go here just for a beer again.

Another pub that seems to have had a refurb in relatively recent history. It would easily be 15-20 years since I was last in here and I wouldn't have recognised it had I not known it was the same pub.

This is a JW Lees pub so unfortunately only has their beers on cask. Four hand pulls offering True Faith, Bitter or Original (can't remember which), MPA and Boiler House New Zealand Pale. I went for the True Faith which was OK, bit not really more than OK. It was certainly drinkable.

Despite feeling fairly modern it still felt like a proper pub to me. However a JW Lees pub is never going to be a go-to pub for me.
