I found a popular pub in the centre of Ipstones with a fervant crowd watching the Stoke game on Sky Sports on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was friendly enough.
I was a bit surprised to find bright modern light coloured wood interior which was OK but my personal preference is for tradition. There were two rooms a decent sized bar and a dining room.
Ales included Beaver Bitter, Wadworth 6X and Bombardier - the 6X was fine.
