A roadsise pub with an impressive nesting of small rooms throughout having entered into the bar area. There are various levels, and the interior winds around, the two sided bar gives decent access to the various sections.I found it charming, traditional and there are some old exposed beams above the bar, more modern beams elsewhere but leaving an authentic feel. The pub was very busy on a Wednesday evening.
The ale options on my trip were GK Abbot,Titanic White Star (NBSS 3.5) and a selection from Burton Bridge namely their Bridge Bitter,Stairway to Heaven and Soverign Gold with two other clips reversed.I would pop in again for a decent pint and the pub atmosphere,it's an upbeat place and well cared for.

The Crown and Thistle is a decent looking white painted pub that is on the busy liverpool road.
Once inside there is an oblongish shaped room which had a tiled floor and looked quite smart in my opinion, the seating was comfy bench type and normal tables and chairs, the left side was up a few steps, there is also a nice beamed ceiling.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Peakstones Blonde which was quite a nice drink, the other beers i noted were Robinsons Trooper and Bass.
The pub was very busy on my early Saturday evening visit with a good mix of drinkers.
This is a very pleasant and popular pub.

This pleasant looking roadside pub is situated on Kidsgrove Bank just outside the town centre was formally called Brennans, and after a £150,000 refurb has been taken over by the Shropshire based Caldmore Taverns. On entry the bar is to the right with an open area in front of you with another opened up area beyond the bar.Called in around 12-45 on a Saturday for the first half of the televised Premier League Footy game to find the pub quite busy with a mix of drinkers and diners alike. There were 4 cask beers on with The Undertaker (A dark coloured bitter that looked like mild) top notch.Quite liked this and if in the area again will re-visit.
