The Coach & Horses is a corner plot pub with a wood panelled and red tile floored bar with a serving counter across the rear that faces seating under the front windows and an exposed brick fireplace with a burner on the right-hand wall. To the left of the bar area is a snug. A couple of cider clips were attached to one of the hand pumps and the other three were badged with Ludlow’s Gold, Noble Craft Brewing’s Dream Catcher and Bewdley Brewery’s Sunshine. There was also an interesting keg range which included a couple of Hawkstone and Ayinger brews alongside Murphys. I found the staff and the locals to be very friendly, so my notes are lacking, but I know I liked it in here and would gladly return.

A very nice looking building, white with green painted windows and doors, with an even nicer interior, for details of which see the link to the Camra heritage site. The two bars have different beer offerings, and anyone entering from the door on the corner could easily be unaware of the two hand pumps in the second bar. I was lucky enough to spot the Stonehouse Station Bitter (see photos for the others in both bars), one of my favourite beers in Shropshire - similar to Hobsons Best but in my view better. If I was lucky enough to live in Shrewsbury, I reckon I would be here at least once a week (so many pubs, so little time).

This historic grade II Victorian Inn was recommended as a place to eat by the proprietor of our B&B, but the large back dining room was in darkness and did not seem to be in use when we rucked up at 5.30pm on an early Friday evening, so it was a good thing we were only here for a beer.
And on this front both the two atmospheric wood panelled front rooms were being well utilised by drinkers and there was no room in the small snug room to the side.
Alongside the local Long Mynd Cider on one pump Salopian Oracle, Hinson’s Best and a very decent Goffs Jester Brew 10 skinny latte stout were on the others. This was a good visit to this historic Inn.
