On my way to the Bailey Head just around the corner I had been intrigued by the crazy sculptures arranged Father Christmas style on the front wall of this pub. Later, I just had time for a swift half before going for my bus, so popped in. I went randomly in by the door on the right and found myself in a snug with a small serving hatch. The lad who popped his head in told me there was a choice of Pedigree and Salopian Oracle, so I had the Pedigree and it was very good (NBSS 3.5, £3.90/pint). (There's also a cider available, with added raspberries.) There was some kind of Royal Navy thing about the decor of the snug (see photo) but I didn't have time to investigate with my bus due any minute.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Griffin Inn
Welcoming town-centre pub with a curious, colourful artwork addition to the façade. The main bar (with another opened-out room to the back) is to the left of the entrance, with a separate snug on the right-hand side; all with a traditional look and feel. Old Golden Hen, Posh Rat from Rat Brewery (£3.60) and Rosie's Pig cider available from the three handpumps.

A town centre grade 2 listed building that is a 3 roomed traditional and friendly local. On entry there is a large bookcase facing you and to the right of this is the bar. Past the bar to the right is a small room and beyond the bar down a few steps is a larger room with 2 dart boards and occasionally has live music There was 4 cask beers to choose from on my Thursday lunchtime and quite enjoyed my short stay here.
Outside of the pub surrounding the pub sign is work done by a local artist called "Three skinny drinkers" Don't know what that is all about.
