I'm pretty sure I've been here before, because I did all the Bishops Castle pubs 10 or 15 years ago. The front room is like a modern sports bar, with veneer flooring, darts board, big screen and a bandit. The seven other guys were all drinking lager or keg cider. My half of Wye Valley HPA was a bit frothy in the pouring, but turned our ok, or a bit better (NBSS 3.5, £4.00/pint). The others seemed to be a darts team having a training session. (The "lounge bar", through a doorway to the left, also has a darts board, and a pool table. This is the place, sports people!)

So much choice in Bishops Castle but I would say this one had the most "local" feel to it. Having said that, we only got a seat because another pub crawl posse moved out.

Jukebox, pool, darts, tvs, smokers in the doorway. You know the kind of place.

Two real ales on and Wye Valley Butty in excellent condition.

Another friendly pub in the town which is well worth a visit. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and several first-class beers.
