An aged, upmarket, higgledy-piggledy hotel bar specialising in gin (was a former world record holder in 2012 for the amount of commercially available gin). Pleasingly rambling interior with lots of nooks and crannies as well as a nice rear patio garden. No ale at the small bar just Stella and Leffe as well as the mother’s ruin and actually cheaper than expected - £4.50 for half a Stella and a proper bottle of lemonade for Desmond. Friendly barman who told us all about the gin, though the manager gave us pair of scruffs a double-take when he came in. Ultimately there’s no real reason to go here just for a drink unless you like gin but we got more out of the place than we expected on arrival.
