OB nails the decor in his previous review. This has had an external spruce since then, although inside remains as described. Just Morland Original available which was OK. Bit of a slant on the rugby with flags of all six nations tacked to the ceiling opposite the bar and a black & white framed photo of the 2016 Six Nations-winning England team against one wall. Not quite a wildcard from Wantage's town centre, but you wouldn't roll your eyes too much if you did pay a visit.

Friendly locals pub a little way from the town centre to the north. Basically one long room with a chimney breast dividing it into two areas with the bar counter in the middle by the chimney. Décor is fairly plain with white woodchip and a carpet, the left hand end is more secluded, probably a former lounge or private bar, and furnished with tables and chairs. The right hand side is a bit bigger and one end has a dart board and associated trophies, a big screen over the fireplace and a games machine with a few tables and chairs. It also has a collection of morris dancing pictures and some jokey signs. The central bar with its three handpumps was serving Morland Original, St Edmonds Ale and a Greene King seasonal with the Westgate badging, it has a flag festooned ceiling. A collection of pub clips hints that there may be occasional guest ales The service was spot on but the beer was mediocre. One of many former Morland pubs in the town now under the Greene King banner.
