Fairly basic two room pub in another of Wallingford’s olde England buildings, served by a middle bar. Front room fairly stripped back, had a TV showing snooker and a dart board. Rear room seemed to exist exclusively to house a pool table. Fairly quiet on my late afternoon visit. Six pumps, three local ales on: Two White Horse and West Berks. My White Horse Lipizzaner was a good drop. Better than I was expecting but the interior needs a bit of work. If you like your ale, it’s worth looking in.

Basic lager and footie pub in what is one of the better locations in town. Most activity seems to centre round the pool table. Its main function seems to be to serve those who have managed to get themselves barred from the Boathouse. Given the location someone with a bit of imagination and a few bob to spend could make this into something special.

The only sane reason I can think of for calling here is to meet up before eating in the curry house over the road, which is not at all bad.
