As RobC reports below, after a period of being an Indian restaurant and then a long period of closure this place re-opened around November 2014 as the Fox and Goat pub run by Oak Taverns for the local community.
Situated on the A418 Oxford Road between J8A of the M40 and Thame it’s a nice looking white building externally and internally you enter into the main bar room which stretches to the left and then there is a larger dining room area laid out in the extension room to the right.
We were primarily there for Sunday lunch but also good to find three real Ales on in the cosy bar area in the shape of Brakspear Bitter, Loddon Hoppit and Everards Tiger and the latter two were tried and were well kept.
Our experience of the restaurant section was that he Sunday lunch menu is fairly minimal with both the Roast and Vegetarian main options just shy of £15, and as we were there with a couple of vegetarians we also shared a couple of the antipasta starters at £7. These were really good, especially the feta cheese and although I really enjoyed the Roast Prok main, my partners Roast beef left a bit to be desired.
Couldn’t fault the service levels from the Landlady and her young team and all in all this was a pleasant Sunday lunch experience and I wish the pub well for the future.
