A lovely old red brick pile from the outside, by the bridge and river. Enter through the portico and hang right to the bar area which is pretty small but fairly characterful with a pleasing curved dark varnish bar, feature fireplace and paved floor. Had to raise service from reception, looks like they don’t get (m)any drinking patrons during the daytime. No sign of ale, so a half of the local keg Lovibonds was the default choice at 3 quid a half, ouch. It's one for hardcore tickers right now, but they really could do more with it if they wanted, the fabric is there.

Located at the end of Hart Street by Henley Bridge this hotel has a small bar room on the right as you enter from the street. There's no real ale, although they did have Lovibond's Henley Ale on keg, so Estrella Damm lager it was at £2.25 a half. Décor-wise, there's a flagstoned floor, leather-backed chairs and small tables, with a small leather banquette in one corner opposite the bar over which hang multiple black and white photos of old (proper) celebs such as Frank Sinatra, Sophia Loren, et al (I'll let them off the one of Hugh Grant and Liz Hurley in 'that' spring-loaded tit catapult dress). Be warned that the service can be a little erratic if it's quiet - I had to wait a couple of three minutes for a member of staff to appear to serve me.
