The serving counter of the rectangular open plan Horse & Jockey is found up the right-hand wall where Carling, Birra Moretti, Amstel, Cruzcampo, John Smiths and Guinness were available on draught during a recent quiet Wednesday evening visit. To the left is some seating under a television that was airing very loud Channel 4 News and further left is a raised area with a couple of armchairs and a dartboard. On the rear wall is a wooden DJ booth which is used at the weekends when this place makes its money. The service from the young staff was very polite, but this place is a rundown mess.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Horse & Jockey
Very basic pub formed from two old buildings of slightly different ceiling heights inside (with a single step between the two parts). Very little furniture, leaving space for whatever DJ or karaoke nights might happen here on busier evenings. No real ale, and only a limited and dull keg selection, but I was thirsty after a long walk so had a quick John Smith's (£3.50) before moving on.
