The Dog & Gun is a split-level Craft Union pub with a dartboard in the front left corner before seating that runs up the left to the rear where there’s a pool table. The serving counter runs up the right-hand wall to some raised seating in the right rear corner. The televisions throughout were airing muted Sky Sports while some background music played during a recent midweek evening visit when the pub was very quiet. Available from the bar was a standard keg range and one of the two hand pumps was in operation drawing Doom Bar. Out the back is a patio garden that I didn’t visit on this occasion. A standard CU pub that I’ll probably walk past next time.

Just round from the church house another pub that was closing before 10 on a Sunday night but did call back the next night we were staying next door in the Cromwell,Not a bad place but no hand pulls on had a pint of carling it was nice and cold, Would have had lager anyway it was a very hot day, i like my trad beer but if its not getting pulled its normally warm and never tastes very good.
Not like the old days you just put up with it Will call back if ever down here
