This Cotswold stone building is located on a bend in this drive-through village and seems to be at the arse end of dealing with a function on my early Sunday evening visit. Primarily a one-room bar area, all wood-floored, exposed stone and with a super semi-bricked fireplace, this has plenty of standard tables and chairs, although some of the former are more 'rustic' and are ones you'd prefer not to leave your pint too near the edge of, being a spirit level's worst nightmare. The bar is a long counter against a rear wall which has people's names scratched into its surface(?) and offered Wychwood Hobgoblin and Marston's Pedigree with a third stump unclipped (two ales, both at 4.5% is hardly a choice. There's also a smallish ante-room / sitting room to the bar's right which is a cosy respite to main area. It's a nice enough place, but a few tweaks here and there would take it out of League 1 and into Championship territory.
