The White Lion used to be a Whitbread tied house.
This pub has had its ups and downs over the years it was taken over by Banks's brewery in the late 80s and given a makeover.
The last time i went in here a couple of years ago there was no real ale on and the pub looked in a sorry state,this pub is now tinned up awaiting its fate.
