Good Beer Guide-listed pub with an impressive tiled frontage. It is located reasonably close to Nottingham train station, but strangely doesn't open until 4pm during the week. As such, it was the last of our 9 Nottingham pubs and we didn't have long before we were supposed to be catching a train to our final pub (which we ultimately never made). As such, I didn't really feel as if I did this pub justice. I'd also already had a little too much by this point of the day.
I did note down that there were a couple of rooms. I also noted down the beers available. Being a Castle Rock pub, Harvest Pale & Our House were both on. Guests were Shipstone's Original, Neptune Ezili & Brass Castle Hazelnut Mild. The cider was Lilley's Mango. Craft beers on were Castle Rock Session, Little Critters Little Vanilla Chinchilla, Arbor Mosaic, Good Chemistry Bramble Fizz & Schofferhoffer Grapefruit.
My Hazelnut Mild was very moorish and I ended up failing to finish it as we rushed out to the station for our train.
Definitely one I will have to return to in order to have a better mooch around.

This pub was in the Good Beer Guide when I first visited with some of my Luton Town mates in the days before I did reviews of pubs, so that one is lost in the mists of time, though I do remember having conversations with friendly locals - as I recall, there were team photos and fan related displays for both Forest and County, one in each room. I'd not been back for a while, partly because it's a late opener during the week, and also it's a little out of the way, but a Hatters game at the City Ground in November 2021 gave me an opportunity for a revisit. My notes made at the time were brief but to the point: "an unlikely estate pub with class - friendly atmosphere". I also noted six hand pumps, a bar billiards table and table skittles too. The beer, I also noted, was very good (Burton Bridge XL).

In the west midlands, we have Black Country Ales pub and this very much reminded me of one of those. A very traditional feel, which of course, is no bad thing.
Two separate rooms - to the right a pool table. to the left, a classic pub lounge.
Burton Bridge Stairway to heaven in OK nick. A few castle rock - as I think this is another tied house.
