On every previous visit to Nottingham, I've found this pub closed. This time, we finally managed to enter. The interior has a number of different areas separated by brick pillars. There is a raised area to the front and the room stretches back a fair way to a large sunken area to the rear. Toilets are upstairs from there.
We were served by a friendly barmaid. There are 3 cask ales, which were Timothy Taylor Boltmaker, Black Iris Endless Summer & Brew York Keras. A CAMRA discount is offered. Craft beers included Tiny Rebel Easy Livin' & Beavertown Neck Oil. The cider is Inch's.
The atmosphere was fairly relaxed with background music playing. Bar snack menus were on each table, whilst we also saw some more substantial meals come out. Fairly run-of-the-mill pub by Nottingham standards, but I'm glad I've finally visited.

This historic building was part of a series of wharf buildings owned by Fellows Morton & Clayton, one of the largest fleets of working narrowboats pre WWII.Confusingly The Canalhouse next door, when viewed from the canal towpath has an original FMC signage high up,this FMC pub is far smaller although it too has a canalside terrace.
The front door has to the left a raised section with a few tables, high tables opposite the bar a little further on,and then a more substantial lower lounge with french windows leading to the canal terrace. There is some boating paraphenalia dotted about, and the wooden furniture and fixings does add some interest but two large Sky Sports flatscreens and various home nation flags show that this will lively at times.Thankfully the Sky Sports was on mute on my lunchtime visit.
There are 4 handpumps ,one for real cider with the others on my trip Shipstone's Gold Star,Doom Bar and Blue Monkey Primate Best Bitter (£4.10,NBSS 2.5)
Not a bad pub,but nothing too exciting there are better real ale outlets not too far away.

I’ve been here before I’m sure but I thought it was bigger and better quality. Sadly my thoughts were misplaced, not so big and average on the beer quality front. Two lots of three pulls, Blue Monkey Primate on one, Doombar on the next and something instantly forgetable on the third. Noisey sports screens but totally nice staff.
