Modern build community pub in Tesco’s carpark, GBG2019 listed. Sort of l or u shaped, serves 6 cask beers, well chosen for strength and type. Lots of bench seating and a few screens, looks like a proper hub of the community type place.

Caught the bus to Werrington to visit this pub as it is another new one for us in the 2012 Good Beer Guide. The number 1 from town is every 10 minutes and drops off near the pub. It is next door to the Tesco supermarket and has a lovely community feel to it. Was shocked to see a notice in the window to save the pub, and on enquiry found it belongs to Tesco, and they want to close it for expansion. Someone said more car park!! There was a good range of real ales on and we chose beer from Tydd Steam and Gales (from Fullers). The Gales was a little cloudy but drinkable. Music playing and a TV switched off. Lovely outside seating area and a banner on the fence advertised their beer festival at the beginning of July. The barman said they have the Dragon a bit further round the estate, and that was aiming to get into the Good Beer Guide too. Worth the journey.
