Almost wished I hadn't bothered walking out to this one. Nothing on the bar of note and there were some rather strange looking men in the poolroom. Was half expecting Duelling Banjos on the speakers.

The Spring House is situated away from the middle of the town centre and is on the apex of Mill Gate and Farndon Road.
Once inside this pub is just like it was when i first visited it,the pub was a John Smiths tied house with keg beers on the bar and it is just the same now.
Once inside the pub still has two separate rooms, there is an oblong shaped lounge to the right which is carpeted and has normal tables and chairs for seating, the separate bar to the left is smaller and oblong shaped this room is quite narrow and runs the the rear where there is a pool table.
There are still no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Extra Cold Crap which was cold and crap, but only £1.00 for a half.
The pub also does very cheap meals with fish chips and peas being £2.75,Sausage mash peas and gravy £3.00 all other meals were of a similar price with the rump steak being just under £5.00.
I still found this to be pleasant pub to have a drink in,just a shame there is not a real ale on the bar,and it is not really handy for people visiting Newark as it is a bit of a walk from the middle of town.
