Very easy to divert to from the A1 and we used it as a lunch stop on the way up to Yorkshire and found it to be more of a restaurant than a pub.
Two areas either side of the central bar which according to Whatpub, and indeed historical photos, used to support three local real ales. But not for our visit which found a limited beer selection with no real ales and Theakston Best on keg as the only available bitter. This is very much badged as a gastro pub and was more restaurant than pub for me.
The food we experienced was very passable, especially as they had smaller plates ideal for a light lunch, and I wouldn’t hesitate to divert here again when looking for something to eat.
However lacking that all important pub feel if you happen to find yourself in Long Bennington for the evening.
