Strongers . left this review about The Drunken Donkey
The Drunken Donkey is a dimly lit high ceilinged venue with a serving counter that serves standard keg alongside Cruzcampo across the rear wall. Opposite this counter, across the front wall, is a split-level seating area with a pool table that sits under balcony seating above that overlooks the bar. This upstairs area was roped off during a recent quiet Thursday evening visit. There’s a small DJ room in the left-hand wall, but this was unused while the jukebox was churning out modern music that sat well with the inclusion of a photobooth. The service from the barmaid was very friendly, but this isn’t the sort of place I would ever revisit.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Oak
When i first visited this pub it was called The Bank,so it was more than likley converted from an old bank.
Once inside there was one largish single room that had a mix of seating types, there were no real ales on the bar,we had a drink of Worthington Cream crap which was a very poor drink, the other beer was John Smiths smooth crap.
This was a pretty poor pub,but a lot better than the Bootlicker which was nearby.
The pub ended its days being called The Oak a Smith & Jones house.
