A very comfortable pub, has a miner bird to the front of the lounge if you fancy someone to talk to and does a great wolf whistle at the ladies. The interior is very open plan and to me seemed a bit sparse, but nevertheless the ales were very well kept. I enjoyed the Hadrian and Border Northumberian Gold and Tyneside Blonde. It also serves good food, will return.

we often come to the wheatsheaf hotel on sundays, my husband always gets the lamb sunday lunch and i just love the egg mayo salads . A lovely place to eat.

Stayed for a weekend. very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Entire building is in a lovely mediaeval style... Candles galore! Food was first class and staff very freindly
