A short walk from the town centre is the Crown that has two separate bars. The smaller Sports Bar at the front has a television on each end wall and houses a mix of standard and high tables. The bar along the rear faces the front windows that look out onto the car park. The longer bar at the rear has high tables by the entrance that are overlooked by a television on the right wall that was showing The Chase with sound. The bar counter down the left supports standard and premium keg alongside two hand pumps. One was unused which left Greene King’s Old Speckled Hen as the lone cask option. On the wall at the end of the bar is a jukebox that sits next to a kid’s toy grab machine. Opposite, along the right, are some tables and at the rear are a couple of sofas either side of a coffee table. Out the back is a patio with wicker furniture and beyond is a large picnic table strewn lawn. I found the service to be friendly, and despite my visit being late on a recent Tuesday afternoon there was a vocal local crowd in attendance. I’d use this pub if I lived locally.

The Crown is a decent looking pub that is now the closest pub to Wellingborough train station.
I decided to walk down to this pub after getting off the train,to my surprise the pub was open at 10.10 am,to show the rugby.
Once inside the pub had two seperate rooms divived by a central bar,i went into the right hand room which was oblong shaped, this room looked quite smart,it was carpeted and had a mix of banquette seating and normal tables and chairs, there were two TVs showing England getting thrashed by New Zealand.
There is a smaller oblong shaped bar to the left which unusually only had tall tall tables and chairs, there was another TV in here showing the rugby.
There in a nice safe garden to the rear which can only be accessed from inside the pub.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of St Austell Trelawny which was a decent drink but slightly too warm, the other beer were Taylor Landlord,Spitfire,London Pride and GK IPA.
This is a very pleasant pub to drink in.
