Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George
Good village pub, and all the better for being open on a Monday evening (when so many others aren't). Three-part layout, with the two rear seating areas at the back (one with a blazing log-burner) being five steps lower than the dining room in the original building at the front. Also has a sizeable patio beer garden to one side. As the Great Oakley Brewery outlet, I found Wot's Occurring (£4.30) and stronger Gobble being served from the pair of handpumps.

Called in while on a coach trip round some Northamptonshire pubs. Taylor Landlord and Golden Best, Elgoods Cambridge and Vale VPA available. It is a popular local pub and friendly.

A splendidly unspoilt village local. although at first glance we were not sure it was open as the street frontage is not really used and there was not much sign of life. The car park side was more encouraging and we discovered a cosy low-ceilinged bar room. Up a couple of steps there is a quiet dining room, with suitable assortment of mismatched furniture, while a Northampton table skittles table can be glimpsed in a back room. There are some good and well-kept local beers, mainly from Great Oakley and Vale, and food is unpretentious and home made. Note is closed Tues lunchtime and no food Mon/Tues.
