I spent a couple of hours in this McManus pub on Saturday night as part of a large stag group and the staff and locals couldn’t have made us all feel more welcome. It was very lively as some decks had been set up on the raised area to the left where the dartboard is located and some tunes were being blasted out to the enthusiastic crowd. Hoggleys Pump Fiction was the only ale choice as the other hand pump was unused, but I did pop back in for a quick pint of Guinness whilst I waited for my train back to London early Sunday afternoon and Nomad Dusk was available alongside the Hoggleys. The food menu is very basic with rolls and stew advertised, but it is very good value and can be eaten in front of the open fire which is great on a cold afternoon.

At the rear of the pub there is a smoking shelter and some picnic tables before reaching the pub car park.

I liked it in here and will make a point of returning if I ever find myself in this neck of the woods again.
