Wow - the front door was open at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. There was some sort of meeting going on.
We were told that the pub wasnt open.
I asked when it was. Met with conflicting answers but the overriding opinion was "Sunday Lunch". This, despite a sign outside saying "Thursday Night is Burger Night"
Sometimes you wonder why rural pubs are in peril. Sometimes you know exactly the answer.

The Carpenters Arms is situated on a fairly busy road in the small village of Lower Boddingon.
Once inside the pub had a few different rooms that were all at the front of the pub,the room closest to the door had a few tables and chairs in it but no bar, this room was full the next room to the right is even smaller and had a couple of tables and chairs the bar and largest room is to the far right this room looked a bit strange to me with what looked like a 80s DJ area which turned out to be a raised seating area, this room had a stone floor and had a cold feel to it which i thought made the room seem a bit uncomfortable.
The pub is a Hook Norton tied house and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Hookey bitter and this was a decent drink the other beers were York Terrier and Black Sheep bitter.
I was'nt that struck with this pub.

This pub is owned by Hook Norton, run by a young landlord it has gained a reputation, he is soon to also run the Fox at Farthinghoe as well.
